When doing an Update to new installed Reivit Software

Hi All,

We have had a few new machines delivered at work and I was wondering what is the best path for install / update of revit software. Do you need to do all the updates in order or can you just do the most recent one?

Kind regards, Andy

The new version of the software will install as a separate installation and the older version will be retained.

I keep different versions on my laptop (currently I have 2021, 2022, 2023) due to the backward non-compatibility issue for the project and family files. You could keep every version covered by your licence if you have enough disk space.

Upgrading the projects is a different matter.

Hi, thanks for the reply, but I dont think I made my question clear, sorry.

I mean if I install a fresh version of say 2023, do I need to do all the hot fix / updates in order or can I just do the most recent one?

Kind regards, Andy

The readme for the hotfix shouild tell you if there are any prerequisite updates that need to be applied first but usually each update also contains all previous updates.
