Weight is not formatting as lb

So, I have a family and I have its unit of weight set to lb. However, when I put in a parameter for weight, it is still forcing it to lbm and adjusting the weight I want to use by a factor.

How do I get my weight to work as lb in the parameter?

The parameter is a structural weight and set up as an instance.

Thanks!

In your project template, go to manage>project units and change the default setting for weight.

I did that. That's what I was meaning to say in my first sentence. Project units are set to lb.

So in both the family editor and the project environment your weight setting is in lb but your parameter is still defaulting to lbm?

Confusing.

That's what I said and that was indeed what was happening.

I tried doing it in another family thinking maybe something had just gone wonky but I was able to replicate.

Hello,

Check if you your parameter is using Mass or Weight, this can be the problem, they are two different units!

Oddly enough, I was using, or thought I was using, Weight but I apparently needed to set Mass to lb for it to stop trying to read units of lb as anything else.
