Weather Data Issue

I'm trying to get heating and cooling load from system analysis in Revit 2020 while varying locations in Sri Lanka for same model. Eventhough I correctly input location (different districts in Sri Lanka), in Annual Energy Simulation report weather is taken from one single weather station only.. (But in maps it show many weather stations for given location and between two locations there is a significant distance).

So i get similar results for each model with different locations which cannot be accepted. 

Can anyone please help with this issue?

Hello @utech.udara,

When I search in Sri Lanka I see several weather stations I can select from.

See picture below.

Maybe search for the nearest bigger city.

Where is your project located?

I looked at several cities in Sri Lanka and found several weather stations in an area 20km around the city I searched for.

You have to see something I see and select the weather station of your choice.

Hi, Thank for the reply.

Yes there are weather stations showing in the map when i select required locations. Below I have mentioned what exactly i did. (I change the location > Create Energy model > System Analysis > Annual Energy Simulation steps were followed in each case)

I checked for two scenarios .

1. Analyze the building for location  - Kandy, Sri Lanka( Image 01). See the output report from Annual Energy Simulation under system analysis  (Image 02). 

 

 2. Location - Colombo District, Sri Lanka (Image 03) 

 

 

But for both cases same weather file has been taken in the analysis and no change in Heating and Cooling Load calculation.

Autodesk uses the ASHRAE fundamentals handbook for WMO weather stations. According to ashrae-meteo.info, Sri Lanka only has one posted WMO station at Bandaranaike International Airport. I feel that presenting multiple weather stations but deferring to the closest ashrae catalogued weather station is somewhat misleading.

Thanks for the response. Seems it is true. However according to AU class (https://www.autodesk.com/autodesk-university/class/Revit-Systems-Analysis-Features-and-Framework-Int...) it says weather data is taken from climate.onebuilding.org
