Hello to all,
I know that using voids is not easy and doesn't always work. . But I need to created a family, similar to the one atteched, with a curved cut out. In the example attached, there is still one void which is not cutting in to the cube.If I use the "cut" - command I receive the error "Can't keep elements joined". I have tried several approaches but nothing works.
Can someone help me with a workaround or a solution?
Thanks
Filip

Yes, Revit is not as strong as software like Inventor to handle these kind of things. What you are dealing with are slivers. Due to accuracy matters Revit gets into difficulty when things get very close (low mm level) and breaks.
Best that you possibly can do is getting it about as close as you can.
Basically stop short before you get into problems
If this will work also will depend on the purpose of this family and if you need the make several types and parametrize this piece.
The further you allow yourself to stay from the problem area the better chance you have that it will not break.
Even better would be to simplify it further and use details to show how it will look exactly.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
Can you send me your solution. I want to see where/witch you manipulate the voids.
thx

I do not have access to the computer I tried that on at the moment.
But I just shortened the straight sweep to around 744 mm as indicated in the drawing
