Turn cable trays into single solid

Hello,

as stated in the title, I would like to know if there is a way of converting a set of contiguous cable trays and fitting into a single simple solid. I'm interested in that because I would like to use a Revit model for HVAC CFD analysis.  I apologise if the question is too obvious, I'm new to Revit.

Thank you in advance,

Pol

if you set revit to a 3D view and set the detail level to Medium. then, in the Solids tab in the DWG/DXF Export window to ACSI Solid, the cable trays should export as 3D Solids. actualy they will export as blocks, but if you explode the block, it will be a 3D Solid :-).

Hello Mr Munsell,

Thank you for your response, I did not know that.

However, my question was more centered towards having only 1 solid that represent the whole cable tray network. I am using the Autodesk CFD program and opening a model with cable trays in it means adding hundreds of extra solids witch greatly affects performance. The "Join Geometry" command in the "Modify" tab does not seem to work with these elements. For now I have been using Fusion 360 to join them, but I was wondering if this operation can be done within Revit, as it would simplify my workflow.
