Tagging Linked Elements

Good day,

We have a liked model with electrical lighting linked into the electrical model.  The users are tagging the lights on the linked model but each time the sync or reopen the model the tags have to be Re-hosted to the lights.

Will Copy/Monitoring the lights prevent this from happening?

Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous

Hope you are well! Smiley Happy

Copy/Monitor will help, alternatively, for quick tagging you can go to Annotate >> Tag >> Tag All >> Include Elements from Linked Files >> Select the Category (Lighting Fixture Tags >> Apply.

I hope this helps! Smiley Wink

Hello,

Another option is to tag the components inside the linked file, then on the view, in the VV select the proper view.

Guys this is my first time on here. if this isnt the right thread for my topic can someone please point me in the right direction?

Currently im moving our companys workflow toward using linked models in a sheet view file for all annotations then linking that model into a file just for sheeting those views.

Essentially modelFILE.rvt links into sheetviewsFILE.rvt links into sheetsFILE.rvt helps us save modeling time.

The problem im having occurs when  the views that are linked into the sheetsFILE.rvt from the sheetviewsFILE.rvt the pipe tags end up relocating themselves toward one end of the pipe it is tagging. I have 2 pipe tags and only one type suffers from this issue. Does anyone have any insight as to what could be wrong with the pipe tag, or with how im annotating?
