spaces and zones heating & cooling loads

can anybody help,

having few issues with my Revit model for heating and cooling loads for energy analysis, the issue is when I enter all the fields for both the ground and fist floor on my model the and generate a report for heating and cooling loads for spaces and zones, the ground floor generates output details but the first floor will not generate heating and cooling loads. I have included screenshots   and you can see if all first floor schedule reports not computed and floor plans wont change color as the ground floor.

thanks,

Hello again @graham3699

Uploading your model is probably the quickest way to get an answer to this.

Hi Iain,

uploading my heating and cooling model, same problem as highlighted before tried everything but the flow rates and velocity wont color in first floor and ground floor color ok but when generate report its loses colors. I tried everything but it wont work. I Haven't been on in a while as concentrating on mech model. Also do you know where u get pipe accessories tags for valves and cant find family anywhere.

thanks,

Firstly you had unfilled voids in the model:-

  • I deleted the ceiling levels - generally I think it is bad practice to create levels for ceilings
  • curved head height partition should be set to not room bounding
  • couple of plenum spaces needed to extend below the plenum level since their ceilings were lower than the others
  • there was an unfilled triangular space
  • there was an unfilled space between the trombe wall and the curtain glazing

Then you had humidification control active in the first floor zone which was preventing calculations from running correctly.

I have roughly corrected these and calculations now run, however you need to check and refine my edits.

Re the pipe accessory tag:

  • open a pipe size tag family
  • save as a copy
  • change category to pipe accessory
  • edit the label and change the parameter(s)
  • save and load to project
