Show Room Name/Number in Lighting Device Schedule

I've seen several posts adjacent to this topic but nothing that solves this particular problem.

I'm trying to create a Lighting Device Schedule, and I want the Room Name and Number (from the linked Arch model) to populate in the schedule.

I have tried checking room bounding on the RVT link.  I have tried adding a room calc point to the family.  Nothing seems to work.  The Lighting Device fields all populate, but the room info does not.  I don't understand why this wouldn't work, as the electrical equipment location field automatically populates and fills in the panel schedules.

Any hints on why this wouldn't work and what to do about it?

Thanks.

Hello,

Can you share the family for inspection?

Usually, for MEP, it is better to create spaces for this purpose.

Attached is the unedited Revit 2022 switch family.  Putting this into a project does not pull room data from a linked model.

I know that spaces will work with this approach, but Space names and numbers are not automatically updated when the architect changes the room information.  I also know that the space naming tool exists.  I do not want a workaround.  Revit families should be able to pull data from the room they exist in out of the box the same way that electrical panels automatically pull the room data for their location.

Hello,

I made a quick test after enabling Room Calculation Point in the family.

Using Rooms I got the following schedule

Using Spaces

Revit do not show Room/Space from links in Component schedule.  You would need to create Spaces in your own model that utilize the Link as Room/Space boundary + Space Naming tool.
