Set the Default Viewport Type

I would like to change the default viewport type or view title.   For example, when a view is placed on a sheet, the viewport type shows the viewport name, number, and sometimes the scale.  Like this:

The viewports always default to the "Title w Line".   After searching online, it appears the default view title should be set by using the "Loaded Tags and Symbols" setting for "Views".  However, I have that set to our preferred view title, but it doesn't work.  When I drag a view onto a sheet, it still defaults to "View w Title".

And I can't seem to purge "View w Title" either.  Nor can I find it in the project browser.

Any ideas?

I tried to change the default viewport type for years then I found someone posted the work around on here. Duplicate the default viewport type then change the default type to show what you want.

I set this in our template years ago and it did the trick.  Does this no work for you?

Nope, still title w line.

Even with deleting all the viewports, purging everything possible, and trying the Loaded Tags again.

No, doesn't seem to work.  Now that I look closer at that setting, "Title w Line" isn't even an option.  The only options there are the "title" settings for a viewport type.

The viewport family types aren't even an option for that setting?

I guess the obvious solution is to just rename "Title w Line", and make its settings the ones I want to default to.   Maybe that's what the first post meant to do.

Honesty, I d not think that that is what I did, but if it works, go for it.  I set this in our template over a decade ago, so I'm a little fuzzy on exactly what I did.

For me setting the default doesn't work and Revit chooses what it wants. And I then have to manually swap the type in properties.

The whole viewport type thing is messed up and you can't remove unneeded ones. Has been messed up for decades IME.
