Section Cut view not showing walls

So I'm stumped on this one..

I created a section cut wanting to show a wall that has fire closet with shaded graphics and medium/fine detail. The problem is when I create the section the wall does not show up....

here is some more info:

The arch walls that i want to show up are linked(rvt). using view template for section views, view is set to arch and visible for walls.

All visible graphic is visible for walls in main model as well.

No Filters are setOther section views facing south, west, north show correctly except when i create a east facing one, and it doesnt matter where i make a section cut. ANY east facing section cut will not show any background.

Section properties is the same, I have tried copying section cut, rotate and flip to view the section i want.

I have checked category, disciplines, view range, cut planes, hidden elements and phases.

left - east facing(no walls), right - west facing(walls)

Its odd because its just section views where its facing in that direction.  I have drawn a wall in the main model and it shows up.

Anyone else seen this or has a clue to what could be wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I would check the phase filters and the visibility graphics for the linked rvt. file.

Hello @Anonymous

Check the far clip offset of your section

Please make sure that the building are inside the range of your far clip offset.

yes the far clip is set to show and cover the area I want to be viewed

what Is odd is when I bring it to the other side of the wall and flip the view it shows like it is in the right image in my original post. the left image is the other side of that wall, and oddly I kept going back and forth cuz I got frustrated, and it showed up just once. but I had already clicked thru and flipped it to the other side.... now its gone...

delete the section and create a new one from a different distance.

keep the discipline of the views the same.

use NO CLIP for your clipping plane

I had the same thing happen to me (I think).  I cut the section in a Framing Plan (Structural Discipline) and the section showed up with NO WALLS.  I suppose it's possible that I always cut sections in Floor Plans, not Framing Plans?  When I switched the discipline to Architectural (is the section's properties), voila, the Walls appear and everything looks like it's back to normal.

I think when I did that, the section marker in my structural plan disappeared, but that's a problem for another day 😉

Structural sections will only show structural walls.

"When the Discipline property is set to Structural:

  • All element categories display in the view, regardless of their related disciplines. However, non-structural walls are hidden."
