Is there a fix for rise/drop symbols randomly disappearing? Workarounds are not acceptable.
Current incident ID: 139689
Projects are being submitted with information missing from the drawings and this not acceptable.
How can random be fixed? The problem needs to be repeatable in order to find the cause.
I have also experience the randomness of the riser symbols disappearing. The only fix that I have found to work is to select the pipe and move it vertically and then move back to pervious height and the symbol reappears. The symbol appears even thought the pipe is at the same elevation as previously.

So it's acceptable that a product (paid) is not capable of completely performing all it's functionality?
I think that's a completely different topic.
I've also noticed if I change the associated level, the riser symbol will come back, but trying to do this for every level on a high rise could time consuming, and they might disappear again........
While replying, I fixed one riser, synced, closed and reopened, and the rise symbol is gone again.
Have you tested if they print when not shown?
Do they just as randomly come back if left alone?
pipe symbols relate to the cut plane in some cases if the Pipe Rise or Drop does not cut through the space completely it might be stopped below the cut plane and cause the disappearing symbol issue.
confirm your Segments and Sizes are associated to all the scales you are using and your Pipe Fitting and Rise Drop symbol size is set.
are you using any phasing for the design? phase created in will cause this behavior too.
without adjusting your Pipe Rise /Drop in the model try changing your display visual style from fine to course and back to see if that impacts things as well
Unfortunately I have already tried all those suggestions.
I also tried changing the annotation scale size in MEP setting and then changing it back, but nothing seems to help.
I believe that I am experiencing the same problem. I have manipulated all settings possible to get consistent results but I still get them randomly disappearing. Here is an example shown in the screen cast. Notice that all of the pipe are the same size, elevation. Also all are from the same reference level. Some of the risers do not display. Only fix I have that works is to move the horizontal pipe down and then back to the original elevation. The pipe or riser is not sloped, and no plan regions. What is ironic is that the risers right next to it shows.
That is the exact problem we are having. When you sync, close and reopen, dose the rise symbol disappear again or does it remain?
Almost always goes away if I close out and open back up. The pipe will still be at the same elevation and no other users would modify the elements.
What happens when the view is duplicated with and without detailing?
Good question, I'm reopening the project now to test that out.
I just recently had an issue in 2018 on another project where the view was just not correct, it was showing another level completely. I duplicated the view (with detailing) and everything was fine.
EDIT: Duplicating the view didn't do anything.......
On the views that I have problems with, I get the same results with duplicating with or without detailing. IF I close the file and open it back up the risers will disappear despite me fixing them and they clearly show before I close out.
One of our clients is still experiencing this very same issue (Revit 2019.2):
The parts circled in red should show pipe rise symbols.
In their case it can be quickly fixed by pinning and then unpinning all pipe fittings in the project.
However, the issue returns after only 2-3 syncs with central.
It does not seem to be resolved in 2020.
Any update on resolving this issue Autodesk?
I know it doesn't solve the issue, but at least Adesk's aware of it and working on a resolution, according to:
