Revit snap size

Good afternoon, I have searched high and low so I am guessing the answer will end with SOL but here goes...  Is there a snap size/color setting in Revit so one does not have to get up close and personal with the screen to see it?

you can only adjust settings within the Snaps  Options

add or remove values in the increments or angles, uncheck certain boxes

[start sarcasm] I use a black background and snap markers are a fine shade of gray that fades into the background rather nicely. [end sarcasm]

Revit gives you a not too small snap symbol, a Tool tip below the symbol (not shown below because when I activated the screen grab it was gone), and a Description in the status bar.  Still not enough?

My indicators are less than half that size, at a similar zoom level, and are gray on a black background. AFAIK, there aren't any options for controlling the visibility of them, aside from changing the background color.

I agree. Snaps and grips need more customization options. I lose track of grips especially. If you have a second, vote for some of the ideas on the idea forum, including this one.

I'm so glad that the Revit forums aren't filled with fanboy snark and sarcasm like some other software forums.  Oh wait, I guess I never looked up "change snap size color" before.

Did you have a question/solution?

No, sorry - and I know that reply from another user with the "Still not enough?" quip is over a year old, I've just been unlucky the past couple of times that I've gone into the Autodesk Knowledge Network and found "answers" like that.  The actual and frustrating answer has already been presented, which is that it's impossible to change the size or color of the snap symbols.  So while unnecessary and not welcome, my comment was intended to remind contributors that the actual answer is enough, and anything that tries to belittle the question by implying that, "Revit is perfect - get over it newbie" just makes for a really uncomfortable forum.  I see this all over the place with just about every piece of software I use, that folks on the forums seem to take it personally when someone suggests that Revit should do something that AutoCAD does really well in a similar fashion, or vice versa.

Anyway, I'll try to remember to take my own snarky reactions to snarky replies to the "let's all snark all over each other" corner of the Knowledge Network.  Thanks for calling me out (not sarcastically.)

Looks like you are the only one hi-jacking someone else topic, taking it personally, reading too much between the lines, making assumption about what is inside other's head, and putting words into other's mouth based on that assumption and your perspective.

Glad to help.

In all actuality, the topic at hand is one of the first questions I asked after getting my hands on Revit and soon after realized that a lot of the built in modeling tools don't allow adjusting of graphic representation.

You're right - I apologize.  I think I was projecting from several other help forums that I've been visiting lately because of a stressful project in which I'm a little over my head.  I re-read your post from last year and I can see how it might have been a lot more light-hearted than I first saw it.  There are certainly sharks out there waiting for somebody to post a question that inadvertently criticizes the design or development of a program like Revit and they grab that as an example of why we should all just be satisfied by what the Autodesks and the Adobes and the Microsofts et al provide for us and if you wish it did something better, well, why don't you go build your own virtual monopoly you idiot!

So again, I'm realizing that you weren't doing that - you were just pointing out that things are pretty good without having the ability to change them and that's something I'd tell my coworker in a heartbeat when he complains about how the bike racks are all the way on the other side of the building.

Mea culpa, Tom
