Revit mep sockets

Hello,
I got a building created in ArchiCAD, open it in Revit MEP, I want to add circuits to the rooms and socket. There is a problem. On some walls I put slots, and some do not. Why?

Hi copperhead90, It will depend on the category the file conversion from ArchiCAD (I assume IFC?) to Revit assigns to the walls. Some ArchiCAD walls may come through in Revit as Generic Models / In-place Models belonging to the generic model category. Being able to place a socket in a wall depends on if the socket family was created as a wall-based family, or a face-based family.

If the socket is a wall-based family, Revit will not allow you to put the socket on one of the ArchiCAD "walls" (Because it is in actual fact a generic model)

If you use IFC :

You can change the socked family (standart is wall-based). Make family to place socked on face (face-based family).

Another option is to use linked DWG its pretty easy ( yeah no way to automatic put sockeds but is much better that IFC )

PP: When you convert "somethink" to IFC you may lost some elements. IFC is not perfect have long way to run befor good colaboration between different vector/raster softwares.
