Revit keeps modeling in wrong materials, then keeps reverting to generic fitting

TWO PROBLEMS:

1. While in piping worksets, Revit continually models in WRONG piping material,

2. Modeled real world fittings keep reverting to generic fittings.

3. Loaded real world fittings disapear from model.

What am I doing wrong?

After modeling a piping arrangement in real copper fittings, they revert to generic.

After loading real world copper fittings into the model, and using them, they disappear after 10 minutes.

Continually models in ductwork or cast iron soild pipe after repeatedly re-setting to copper over and over again.

There is no cast iron in my view, and when I choose a pipe type in copper, they revert, or model in DWV every time.

Have you checked the routing preferences? Fittings will change to the ones in the routing preferences when Revit needs to replace them, like when changing sizes.

No, matter what get fixed, ten minutes later, it is malfunctioning again.

No, matter what routing preference you set, Revit just goes ahead and selects something else.

I can see where I tested out a piping run 10 minutes ago, and it worked fine.

But, to try and duplicate that again, it malfunctions.

If you select generic fittings, it models manufacturer's family, no matter what you select under routing preferences.

We have refrigeration fittings, generic elbows, and standard copper elbows in the model.

Selecting all to generic fittings in routing preferences, does nothing.  It still selects refrigeration.

Selecting anything does nothing.

This is most likely a workflow issue. I'm still thinking that you are making changes that differ from the routing preferences and Revit is resetting back to the routing preferences.

Can you make a screen cast or a series of screenshots to show what is happening?
