Revit - Duct riser symbol won't show if not exactly 90 degree to section view

Is there a build in tolerance in Revit that controls when to show or not show duct riser/drop symbol? (It seems to be <=0.1 degrees)

If a duct is ever so slightly off 90, Revit won't show the symbol on section views. In my case, it's only 0.5 degree off. This makes working in oddly angled area very difficult and time consuming.

To make things worse, you can't measure angle between an element and the section in a plan view, you can't align a section to elements.

So you have to work around to find out if your element is exactly 90 to the section. Then manually move the end point to an element point, then rotate the section/element about that point to make them 90 degrees. Since "move" and "rotate" command can snap to section view line in plan view, BUT not "measure angle" and "align" tools.. Why, why?

This is a tool available in the Autodesk Addin Store. aligns sections to the element of your selection.

It just amazes me that how Revit is not capable of a lot normal functions other CAD software has. A reference/section plane cannot be aligned like common elements is just unimaginable in the CAD software world. I guess BIM world is really lonely with no competitions.

Are you here for assistance or just complaining? It sounds more like complaining.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Yeah, well, the complaining is better off in the consumer feedback forum.
