RCP Component not showing up in view

Please see attached PDF views. I have a family  that I downloaded from a vendor that after being placed on the ceiling grid does not show up in the Ceiling Plan like the other components do. You can see in the pdf section view that the item is in the correct location.  All visibility graphics components are turned on. I thought that it could have something to do with the view depth, but I do not understand how the RCP view depth works, so I have left it as the default created it... Thanks for any help.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

It could be one of a number of things. Probably not view range. Post the family.

Hello @advandes,

I checked the family and all looks fine in My project.

In the Mechanical Equipment family, there is a sub Category "Fan Unit" added to the geometry of the family.

Did you check if that subcategory is turned on in you Visual Graphics overrides under ME?

Is the family placed on the right Phase?

It is a face based family. Did you put it on a ceiling or a Reference Plane?

This is how it looks like if you load the family and place it on a Ceiling. (Place on Face)

The Fan Unit category is turned on.

The Phase is correct

The unit is placed on the ceiling with "Place on Face". You can see it when placing, and then it disappears along with the Warning "None of the created elements are visible in RCP...."

Should I create a Reference Plane for placing this family?

Thanks for the help!

Any filters?

Are you using worksets for visibility?

There were filters applied to the view which I did not know existed. These were created in an earlier version of Revit. Good thinking.. thanks a lot for the help!
