Plan Region visibility

Hello everyone!

I m currently working in a project, where a couple of rooms has double height, so basicly there is a hole in the floor at the 2nd floor.

I have the floorplans imported as dwg under the project.

I would like to control the visibility of my rooms so i will be able to see the piping in the double height rooms, when i m looking at the 1st floor plan,  but don't want to see the 2nd floor's floor plan.

The problem is, then when I set my Plan Region's View Range to the correct height, they overlapping with the imported floor plan so they are shown entirely.

Is there a way to fix this?

Hello @Anonymous,

What are you using Floor Plan or RCP?

For me I would use RCP instead of floor plan to avoid encountering that kind of problem.

Floor Plans. Does Reflected Ceiling Plan would solve the problem?

(Since i have over 100 view-s, there is no way to change them all)

Hello @Anonymous

I mean where did you placed your plan region in floor plan or RCP layout?

Try to switch to RCP instead of floor Plan. The direction of view in RCP is going upward while the Floor plan and Plan region is going downward.

Sorry, i really don't understand why would this solve my problem. I have a bunch of floors, and view's of them carefully set, by discipline.

Even if i would use RCP (which i just tried now) I still don't understand, how it would solve my question. Yes, the view range works differently in RCP, but when it goes throug the linked DWG elevation height, it still shows the whole 2nd floor area.

But still, my view's aren't RCP-s, but Floor Plans. I don't see, why would worth to change them (~100 pieces).

Hide the second floor DWG in your double height room view. Create another view with only the second floor DWG visible, crop or clip the viewport to be the same size as the "hole". Overlay both views on Sheet.

WOW! 😄 I just needed to hide it. Thank you! I haven't realized it!

I don't even need them to overlayed, because the "hole" area on the second floor is actually nothing.
