Piping/Duct Systems - Multiple Source Equipment in a System

Hi all,

 

I've been digging into system analysis topics - specifically modelling boilers in parallel. The most recent and relevant posts I could find are Parallel piping devices, Assign multiple boilers, and Parallel boiler and parallel pump system. However, these all pre-date the new flow solver (see AU 2023 - Get Into the Flow).

 

Is there a new and improved way to model parallel equipment in a piping system so that data can flow correctly for pipe sizing and loss reports? My understanding is still that only one piece of equipment can be assigned to a system at a time. If this is or isn't still the case, what are the workflows/workarounds?

Have you tried it in a project? 

The flow rate is determined by the coils and other devices. the system flow goes to the boilers. I don't know if it now automatically splits the flow, but you can make the flow to each boiler be 50% of system flow (or 33% if you use 3 boilers etc.). That is set in the connector of the boiler (you have to do that for supply and return connectors).
