Hello,

First you have to create a pipe fitting with part type equal to spud - perpendicular or adjustable.

After that in the pipe type property window, in the routing preferences in PREFERRED JUNCTION TYPE select TAP, the on JUNCTION section load your tap family, remember to set up the min size and max size.

Out of the box Revit has a 'branch connection-welded' family.

Set up your pipe type routing preferences to use Tap as the junction type and the branch connection as the junction.

Ope that helps you.
