Pipe dimensioning

Hello friends,

I have two questions in pipe dimensioning (for now):

  • As you will see in the first attached photo I need to insert dimension between the two pipes in order to find the  height. To do that, I need to choose the centerlines of both pipes but I can't (this is the way I insert dimensions in Inventor), it only allows me to choose one centerline and that's it.

  • When I insert dimension between two pipes the result is shown far from the pipes, as you will see in the second attached photo.

Waiting for your help guys.

Thanks in advance.

you need to change your work plane in the view.

in addition, you could also draw a Reference Plan to align with the pipe center, Name it, and use that when you change the work plane vs picking the pipe end.
