Pipe connector in family to be same diameter as pipe

Hi all,

I'm creating a simple valve box family, and I'm trying to get the pipes to connect to the sides of the box however I can't get the connector to change size and match the diameter of pipe I connect into it, it keeps adding in a transition/reducer which I don't want. What parameter does the connector diameter need to be mapped to in order for it to read the pipe size that's connecting into it? Is it also possible to have it switch sizes after it's connected to match a pipe size change? I have the pipe connectors currently set to fitting, and have it mapped to a parameter I created called Nominal Diameter, but the connectors don't switch sizes automatically. I've attached the rfa below. Thanks in advance

You need parameters of Piping discipline and type Pipe Size, probably one for each connector unless all connectors are the same size. E.g. PipeRadius1, PipeRadius2 etc.

Make sure that you correctly use either radius or diameter depending on whether the connector is set to use radius or diameter.

I changed the connector to Piping>Pipe Size. Does it matter if its instance or type based? I want each port to have their own individual size to I was thinking instance...However it defaults to 0" and it won't let the pipe connect to the connector. Am I doing something wrong?

Yes should be instance.

I can’t access Revit at the moment to help more but I suggest maybe check another family which works and set your family up in a similar fashion, or one of the other contributors could maybe help out.
