Object locked can't move vertically even with offset (greyed out), constraints?

Hi, in the project attached there is a vessel that I downloaded from the manufacturer site but it seems there are some sort of constraints maybe in the parameters ..so i can't move this component vertically but only horizontally, I also verified the offset but the options to modify it are greyed out ... I'm not a complete beginner but i've never had this problem with a third party revit family. Can anyone help?

In your image supplied, it has the parameter "Host". This means that it is a hosted object and depending on the hosting type, it cannot move vertically, only along the face of the host (flat plane). Most hosted families have an offset parameter built into them to allow for modification such as this.

Draw a section view, and in the section draw a reference plane (Architecture Tab, Ref Plane). Name the Ref Plane something useful ("plumbing host plane"?). Now go back into the floor plan view, click the vessel family and select "Pick New" button on the ribbon at the top of the screen. When this command is selected click "Work Plane" button and drop down the selection to pick the new plane that you just created. Now you can move the object Up-down-Left-Right, however you want.

Simply tick Disjoin when you moving it on an 2d/3d elevation view.

Thanks @ToanDN for that gem. I never realized that disjoin would orphan a hosted entity. I've used disjoin extensively when I didn't wanted to disconnect at the system level, just didn't realize it would work for hosting. That's another one for the "I wish I knew that one years ago." list.

A thousand kudos to you.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
