No Auto-Route solution found

While trying to connect design duct to an MEP fabrication part, I constantly get "No auto-route solution was found". I am trying to connect round duct to a "shoe + plate" takeoff, pattern 24. I have made sure they are both a 6"Ø, I have used align to make sure the parts are perfectly aligned both in plan and elevation. I have tried starting the duct from the fabrication part, I have tried drawing the duct and connecting to the fabrication part. As far as I know my autoroute settings are setup, although I'm not sure what "auto-routing" is required to connect a round to a round of the same diameter that are already aligned and has not direction or elevation changes. I have tried changing the connector on the fabrication part. I cannot get this to work.

This is a very frustrating issue, as the error is patently unhelpful. If anybody can please explain this.

You cannot automatically connect design revit .rfa to fabrication parts .itm content.

There are tools such as Microdesk that has connect to item features which will move and connect your item. This is free and has been gold for this type of hybrid working.

I'll take a look at your link, but I can connect itm and rfa. See below, the highlighted parts are fabrication, the rest design duct. I had to set the size and height manually, but they do connect without error. So the question is why this particular fabrication part won't connect.

Sorry I should have been more specific. By "Automatically" i meant without editing the size, elevation etc. first.

Ive tested the same scenario with our database and get the same error on all round shoes, spigots, taps etc.

I only detail within Fabrication parts, so this hasn't come up as an issue for me.

The tool I posted does connect the 2 elements though, i don't have the time to look into why this isn't working right now.
