Hello Revit MEP Users,

I wanted to move my selection down ore up. Not such a special task I thought. Fore some reason I didn't work ore the program saw that different. Could some one give some advice? Objects are not pined ore constrained. Running Revit 2021.1.6 Thanks in advance.

You are in a 3D view. You need to make sure the view is truly orthogonal by clicking on left, right, front or back on the view cube but personally I would use a section view, its far more reliable.

Hello @iainsavage, I'm aware of this, but this should not make a difference. If the view was not truly orthogonal, it would not even allow movement in the hight. But it is orthogonal, also it still does not explain the behaver.

Also I could move the not moved object after this movement with the move command.

I thought that was what you were experiencing.

Its not very clear from your video what the unexpected behaviour is.

Can you explain a bit more please?

@iainsavage thanks for letting me know that the clip was not clear.

@ToanDN  and @iainsavage

I was attempting move the elbows, pipes, sprinklers and taps. But fore some reason it won’t move half of the Sprinkelers in the first command. 18 of the 36. If I make the same selection again. It will move the other 18, that did not move before. The pipe and it’s tap do moven and even stay connected to the non moving sprinkler (in a pipe system way) hopefully this helps whit what I’m doing.

Ok so a couple of questions.

If you do the same thing in a section view does it work?

Are you able to upload the affected part of your model?

You can tilt the 3d view after selecting the elements to verify if all of the desired elements are included prior to moving them.

@iainsavage Just did a test in the section same problem, this was after a error.

Oke, if I move the Pipe and tap (part of the a assembly) and not the sprinklers the sprinklers will move along 😅

So do not help the program? Let the thinking to the program.

Hello @ToanDN it ain't a selection problem, I did already discribe this before. I know the ammount that has to be selected. And those where right. 😃 Only did it not move the same ammount as selected as described before.

Hello,

You must check if the sprinklers are not hosted to any other element, like face-based components.

The sprinklers are the same the ones that move and don't move. The sprinklers are not a hosed based spinkler, but thanks for the thought.
