Modify Sheet Name in Project Browser

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a way to modify the sheet name in the project browser. It is uses 'Sheet Name' and Sheet Number' as default setting, but i want it to change to another - user created - project parameters.

Is this possible?

are you talking about these built in Parameters in the image?

I don't believe you can do that.

Current naming is based on this picture

I want to use my own parameters

Is it possible to do? Or is there any trick (like automatically merge-ing my text parameters into 'Sheet Number' parameter

(We are talking about over a 1000 sheets, so anything i can make automatic, would be awesome. 🙂

the only way i can think of (and I have not done this yet) is use Dynamo and an Excel Spread sheet to create the list you want and link it into your Revit Project.

this is a Renaming excersize correct?

if you create your OWN Shared Parameters and assign them to views and Sheets you would still need to edit the results

if you associate (merge) your Custom Shared Parametr to the Default Title Block Parameters I dont think the result wil be what you want.

not sure if this helps

Yes, at the moment i would need to type all the parameters from the text parameters linked together to 'Sheet Number' parameter, for each sheet.

So probably i'll use Dynamo at the end, if this is not a built in Revit functionality. It should be easy that way.

Thanks!

It can be done. Create them as shared parameters and replace the sheet name label in the title block family with these parameters. I would not mess with the sheet number because they need to show in section/elevation/callout marks.

If i understand it correctly, this solution only print's my parameters to the sheet. This is already done. They won't appear in the project browser.

Anyway, i was able to do it in Dynamo.
