Modeling the mep services

Hey I am a beginner to the revit MEP,

I want to add MEP service to a building. I have only architecture autocad files only.

Now I am going to model the architecture model firstly.

is it ok , to create archi model  then structure model after linking the archi. model and lastly MEP model on the linked structural model ??

and also plz tell me what are the items must be copy/monitored in relevant models?

It's a good practice to have separate models for each, Arch, Struct, and MEP and link both Arch and Struct into the MEP.

Copy/monitoring is totally dependent on workflow and personal preference. It's a neat convenience tool but is far from perfect for most people.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

You don't have a structural engineer as well? If the goal is to model the MEP systems then I suggest a very simple architectural model, enough to generate spaces. Same goes for structure, you can even model both structure and architecture in one file.

Initially, I copy/monitored walls and floors to Structural model , then I drew the columns and beams on it. Then I removed the link but, walls still appear. How can I get over it, just select and delete?

You have to manually delete them.

Again, if the sole purpose of modeling the arch and struct is to create a background for your MEP then just model them in one file and link to the MEP model.

I agree with your approach. There is a common and effective workflow in which the structural model is linked to the architectural model, and then the MEP model is added over the structural model. By doing this, you ensure that each discipline works based on the latest and most coordinated information. Additionally, it ensures the integrity of the design by preventing clashes.
