Linked Worksets show as lower case

We had to split our models into specific trades and we are working in BIM360. All of our Worksets are all UPPER Case but when they get linked back together  in each model all the worksets show in Lower Case.

So our MECH_MECHANICAL DUCTWORK shows as mech_mechanical ductwork in the Electrical model when I click on the ductwork.

Any ideas why and how to correct it?

Never had that happen before... have you tried relinking the models? Sometimes if your workflow allows, removing the link completely and re-linking it will help. Again, only if you wont break the model by removing the links... you could also try the "reload from" as a less destructive method 🙂 

EDIT: Also if it doesn't seem to be affecting the model negatively then I would tend to not lose to much sleep trying to fix it... just my thoughts.

Have you tried using the rename Worksets option?

I contacted Autodesk about this back in August, but there was no solution to the problem. Since the text-case only visually appears to change, but it does not change the actual name of the workset in the linked model nothing gets dissociated.

In short..its a stupid hiccup that happens with (some users & linked models), but it does not affect any transferred data between models;

• Control of elements using Workset-Filters
• Visibility-Graphics toggle on/off function
• etc...

I noticed this is a major glitch for me.  I was relying on a filter to hide Non-Plumbing Piping in the Mech model & vise-versa.  When I apply he VT with the Filter to hide Non-Plumbing Piping, all the linked Workset names changed to lower case.

According to the post right before yours, the change in case doesn't affect anything other than what gets displayed. All other functionality should be intact.

Filter rules are case sensitive.

So I'm running into the same issue.  I have a project in Revit.  Exporting a linked revit model to a NWC file from Revit.  Worksets and links are included.  Worksets in Revit contain both upper and lower case ie M-Pipe, M-Duct, A-Exterior......

In my Example M-Pipe is coming from a the Piping model that is linked into my Architectural model.  

So when you select the object in Navis, in the properties, it's displaying as M-Pipe.  So I use the Find Items tool, select them all, and create a Search Set based on Workset = M-Pipe.   (Side note - I'm using this mostly for the appearance profiler, but I'm also using it to filter for Clash Detective).    I get that all set up, save the search set, save the model and close.

Next day, I open Revit, Export the view containing the Piping model (same as I did the day before), close Revit, Open my NWF file that contains the newly updated NWC.  When I go to the same Search Set I created the day before it's now looking for items with Workset = m-pipe and can't find any.  So I have to go select the pulldown for options of worksets and "m-pipe" doesn't exist, "M-Pipe" exists.  So I have to go manually reset them in order for it to work again.

I'm hearing from my MEP Consultant, who's doing a similar process, only he's exporting the NWC directly (not from a link) and running into the same issue.  Others in his office are also running into the same issue.

So this appears to be a programming Bug.  I'm looking for a fix.  I'm wondering if we change all of the worksets to being all lowercase if that's the solution while Autodesk looks for a problem/solution? 

I'm sure others have run into this issue.  We can't be the only ones.

Need to reload model to see Worksets in Caps, good to have small letters o see, is that model reloaded or not!!!
