Light-fixture schedule: calculating totals of counts?

Hi all,

I'm trying to make a light-fixture schedule on a large Revit project. I want it to calculate the totals by light type (family and type) per level. However when I choose to calculate total under "Count" when making the schedule, it still comes back only returning 1's in that field.

I'm new to schedules in Revit - could there be some sort of simple mistake I'm making?

All help is appreciated :)!

Thanks in advance,

If you want show the same Light type in one row with the total Count for that type, then:

- Sorting/Grouping tab:  Sort by Level then by Family and Type; Untick Itemized every Instance box

- Format Count to Calculate Totals (which you did)

Same as this but sort by Family & Type and then by Level (or vice versa depending on how you want it):-
