Selection of an MEP view discipline sets all architectural elements to halftone, but we really like to see walls show up clearly in plan in these views.

As far as I know the behaviour is hard coded and the workaround is simply "do not use these views" but it seems like a shame...Am I missing something?

You could turn off Halftone for Underlay but it obviously affect all Underlay graphics.

To add to what @ToanDN already said:

Object styles for starters.

V/G Overrides and View Templates are a close second.

We'd like to see all other architectural elements halftone so turning off halftone for the architectural underlay defeats the purpose, but thanks.

Object styles not useful, the walls are coming in from linked RVT file.

VG overrides can change the line thickness of the walls from that linked setting but cannot override the way walls go halftone if an MEP view discipline is selected.

Cranking the wall thickness in VG and turning up the halftone preset globally gets us a bit closer but I think we'll likely just stick with the coordination setting.

Is it for your coordination clarity or sheet printing?  If the latter, you can overlay another view set to Coordination, only shows Wall categories, and set to Wireframe, on the same sheet of the Mech view.

Any of the above suggestions, or combination thereof, are fully customizable and are only limited by your required workflow.

another way to answer the question would be "no"

Or you could learn to control your modeling environment instead of letting it control you.

No, there isn't a magic button to do this:

Not Halftone.PNG

It took me a few clicks. I'm sure that is not what you are looking for though.

Yes, it is possible to achieve the look I want using the coordination setting. My question is very specific, about the halftone override when I select an MEP setting. It cannot be over-ridden. Fine.

Robdraw, in future please do not reply to my postings. I do not find your advice useful and I do not appreciate your attitude.

I did get the desired result with the view set to mechanical using methods stated earlier in the thread that you said don't work.

You also pretty much called me a liar when I was stating facts.

Good luck.

You're doing it wrong.

You can absolutely control elements in a linked model with object styles.

One issue with using Coordination is that some MEP specific settings such as MEP Hidden Lines cannot be used.  You can turn the view's Hidden lines to All but the hidden patterns are not the same.  But you maybe okay with that.
