Inventor to Revit, bim exchange options?

As a part of one of my academic project, I've had to design a modular hospital. The modules have HVAC MEP and electrical conduits built into the structural steel frame. The parts were modelled put in Inventor as it was easier and smoother as a modelling workflow and a few Nastran analysis were to be carried out on this module.
The module in itself is tiny, 6m by 6m so for the preliminary models I shrink-wrapped them and sent them out to Revit.
The question I have is that in Revit, depending upon the view detail, how do I change the detail level of the inventor import,
As in a section in coarse would have lesser detail than in fine?

Hello,

When you export from Inventor, usually it creates a box for coarse detail level, if you don´t need it you can remove it in the family editor and change the detail level of the other solid. I have tried this until Inventor 2016, I know that when you export from Inventor 2018, it exports as rfa, so I am not sure how it looks in Revit.

I just tried out what you mentioned , l think I should clear up the fact that , how structural columns change in views depending upon the detail level, similarly how can a make an inventor export adaptive in nature?
