Insertion point of MEP family

Hello, 

I have a family which I made with wrong insertion point. I wanted to change it but I could only change its insertion by x and y axis, while defining new origin couldn't be changed in z-axis.

That's impossible to do, right?

Green arrow is reference line that I want to set as origin by z-axis, while red one is current origin (reference plane). Even though I can set green one for 'define origin' it doesn't change anything when I load it in model.

I don't know of a way where you can change insertion point, but what I've done in situations like this is just edit the family, select everything, then move it all so that the insertion point now makes sense.

Are your extrusions referenced to the Reference Plane on the Z-axis, or the Level in the family editor?

In the case of this air terminal family, the Reference Level is freely movable and you can see in the photo that it's been offset 1 foot up, which does get reflected in the model.

So while the Z-reference planes defining Origin don't affect the family insertion point in the way that the X/Y reference planes do, you should still have the ability to adjust the Z insertion via the Level.
