Hello
how can I set Host for every thing?
I have some lighting fixture that I want set this host is Ceiling but I dont know HOW!
please help me

Hello elham.calm,

A host based family can only be placed on the host where it is mentioned for.

So a ceiling based family can only be placed at a ceiling in your model.

A Floor based family only on floors.

A family that was made host based, such as ceiling based can't be switched to another host base.

The only exception is the generic model and face based families.

Face based families can be placed on any face in your model or on an reference plane.

And the generic model can be placed at a specific place in the model.

I would highly recommend building your families as face based.  provides more flexibility across projects.  this applies to ceiling, floor, and wall fixtures.

Hello elham.calm,

If you want to place your family on a ceiling you can make your family face based.

What you can do with a generic family is that you have a button work plane based.

The second option is to start a new face based family and place your generic family in this family.
