Flanges

If in the routing preferences of a pipe a flange is defined, then Revit is going to place a flange at every connection with a fitting. Is there a way to define that flange is only to be used with selected pipe accessories?

Hello,  Currently with Revit 2015 and before we do not have a system in place to handle this.  With 2016 and fabrication parts you can, but with design elements in Revit you would still need to place the flanges manually, i will file a request with the development team.

Thanks

Nicholas,

Version of Revit: 2018.2

In my routing preferences I have flanges set to none to eliminate flanges on fittings, but I want flanges to automatically place on accessories. Are you aware of a solution/work around for this?

Is there any update on this?

Build the flanges into the accessory family.  Move the connectors to the end of the flanges.  Here's our Bray Butterfly valve with 150 lb weld neck flanges family.  This way we can drop this valve into a welded piping system and ensure the length is adequate for the flanges.

It's tough getting the flange dimensions to adjust with the valve dimensions that adjust to the pipe size it's dropped into.  But it can be done. Bray Valve Capture.JPG
