fbx pipe fitting capped openings

i have done fbx export to my elbow pipefitting but the pipe ends were capped. Anyone know how to resolve this?  I want a through hole elbow pipe result.

That's because the family was not made to be hollow. You will need to modify your families, make new ones, or find some that are hollow. 

 

This is quite common in Revit. Many things that are hollow in real life are modeled as solids. Creating those voids adds unnecessary complexity to the families and can affect model performance.

Not all connections family need to be created totally hollow.
