Export From Revit to Navisworks - Not Working.

I am in a mechanical model and for some reason when I try to export to Navis, nothing happens.

File>>Export>>NWC>> (Nothing happens when I select "NWC" this point).

This problem is intermittent but lasts for hours/days. I have tried saving the model, rebooting Revit, Rebooting the computer, saving the model to a local drive. Any suggestions?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Does this work:

To export NWC files from Revit

  1. In Revit, click Add-InsExternal Tools Autodesk Navisworks.
Note: This option is not available in Demo/Viewer mode. If you are not in demo mode, but do not have access to the Autodesk Navisworks menu, check if editing view is set to normal, and the modify tool is selected (  Modify).
  2. In the Export Scene As dialog box, enter the name for the Autodesk Navisworks file, and browse to the desired storage location.
  3. Click Save to export the file, or Cancel to return to the application without exporting it.

Just let me know.

I am not in demo mode nor am I getting the Navisworks menu.

What do you mean by "check if editing view is set to normal, and the modify tool is selected."

When I select Navisworks from the External tools, I get an error. see the attached image.

Solved. I needed to reinstall the 2019: NavisworksExporters2019.exe.

after that, I had no problem exporting again. (Thanks Cowabunga computers)

Did you find any solution?

I get the exact same error message as described here. I have tried to reinstall Naviswork Exporters 2019 and I was able to export a navis modell from Revit, but it did not last for long. Now I've got the same problem...!

Walked into this problem today on a project I don't work in myself. I found out that in Insert > Coordination Model a lot of nwc's and nwd's where loaded into the project, apart of the linked rvt's and ifc's. Unloaded these nwd's and nwc's and the nwc export worked again. They have to find another way of linking those models if they want a nwc export.

I have had the same issue as well, tried to reinstall and worked temporarily. For me, I have noticed it happens as soon as structural connections are added to a Revit model.
