Hi,
I'm working on the energy simulation of a big space of a factory with Revit 2024. I would like to simulate and compare the annual building energy consumption for two different configurations of the space.
I'm going to explain the problem better.
CASE STUDY:
The big volume of a factory is considered as a huge open space in which some people work close to the machineries.
HYPOTHESIS:
- HYPOTHESIS 1: The HVAC system is supposed to heat and cool the whole volume of the factory. It provides warm and cool air to the space through a duct system installed in the ceiling.
- HYPOTHESIS 2: The HVAC system is supposed to heat and cool just the spaces related to the workstations (instead of the whole volume of the factory). The HVAC system is the same as Hypothesis 1, but it provides warm and cool air to the workstations through some diffused air terminals that are connected to the main duct system installed in the ceiling.
GOALS OF THE SIMULATION:
- To calculate the annual building energy consumption of the HVAC system for both the Hypothesis 1 and the Hypothesis 2.
- To calculate the energy saving of Hypothesis 2 in comparison to Hypothesis 1.
METHODOLOGY:
Two different simulations are supposed to be run. Two different Energy Models, with the same HVAC system, but with different configurations for the ****ytical Spaces. See the following pictures:
I attach a pdf with the workflow that I followed and the questions about the results that I got.
