Hi Sir/Madam,

I'm learning revit MEP, while im trying to practice your sample mep project i stuck with elevation. There was no problem when i did the HVAC for three levels, after that when im trying to do the Power /lighting fixture (electrical) for the same project i cant put levels in electrical elevation..

when i try to put elevation for electrical, THE LEVELS ARE ADDED INTO MECHANICAL ONLY. even i tried the same for plumbing but i got same result.

please help me to rectify the error.

                                                                 Thank you

Hello,

Check what the view Discipline is of the view in its properties. See screen shot.

Thanks

You don't need to create levels for each discipline - levels apply to the entire project, and are used as the basis of floor/ceiling plans.

Hi,

Like mentioned before you do not need to create a level for each discipline, levels don't have a discipline, what you are seeing is just a name that you can change..  You should create all four levels and name them Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4.  Once you have those levels create floor plans from them through the View Tab>Plan Views>Floor Plan. Uncheck the "Do not duplicate existing views" check box and it will show all levels.  Select levels 1-4 and click OK.  That will create a plan for each level.  Select all of those views that have been created and change the disciple to whatever discipline you would like and then rename them in a way that makes sense for the discipline.  Something like Level 1 - Elec, once you have done that for all for levels you can repeat for the other disciplines.

Thanks
