Electrical Distribution System - Can't delete systems

Hi garus..,

I am having a horrid time trying to figure out:

In the settings to enter values for:

Distribution

System Voltages

There are values that I do not need nor want. The problem is that when I try and delete the unwanted entries I can't.

The "delete" button is greyed out...I have 5 distributions that are listed but again I don't want or need them.

How can I delete them? The same for Voltage designations.

Also when I try to enter a panel's system type/voltage in the properties window the drop down always says "NONE" I'v tried to enter the values manually but Revit doesn't like that.

Do you think I have a corrupt file or what. It was just great about a week ago.

Any help will be appreciated..I'd even send my first born 🙂

TIA

These issues could be a number of things.

Firstly, your distribution systems may not be able to be deleted because families in your project use them; It would be prudent to check all of your families to verify what they are "assigned to." Revit tends to automatically assign the distribution systems for families, aside from the secondary distributions for transformer families. The same applies for voltage/wire designations.

Your second issue is likely caused by the parameters in your families. Revit's electrical circuiting system is separate from the values in the family parameters. The actual values Revit uses are those of the electrical connector in the family. Either correct those values or set them equal to the general family parameters.

Give these a try, or let me know if any of this in unclear.

Cheers & Good luck,

P
