Editing date on multiple title blocks at once.

I'm working in a BIM360 based project with multiple sheets. Right now if I want to update the date on the project I have to go to each individual sheet and update the date manually. I asked the project manager if there was a quick way to do it. This is what he replied "Create a temporary schedule, group by date, then turn off show all instances.  It should show you one per group of dates, then change those dates  and it should update all sheets." I'm not quite sure how to go about doing what he suggested. I'm fairly new to Revit and don't have a lot of knowledge about this subject. Any help is highly appreciated, thanks.

What he is telling you to do is this.

  • Go to project browser, right click on "Schedules/Quantities" and pick "New Sheet List".
  • right click on schedules/quantitiesright click on schedules/quantities
  • This will list all your sheets in the model that have the "Appear on Sheet List" checked on.
  • Add the name of the parameter you are using for the date on the field tab.
  • Go to the sorting tab, and sort by that parameter.
  • Then on the same tab make sure "Itemize every instance" is checked off. This way it will group all the sheets with the same date in one row.
  • Then all you have to do is change the date there and it will change the date for all the sheet that are grouped in that row.

For future, the best way to set this up is your title block using the "Project Issue Date" that comes built in revit. That way when you change the date on one sheet it will automatically update on all your sheets.

Hope this helps!
