Ducting fitting Families repository

Hello!

I have recently started using Revit for HVAC modelling and can't get over the lack of special connections included with Revit. The ones baked into Revit, as well as Autodesk cloud families, are quite basic and unusable when trying to recreate something a professional has done. So, my question is, is there a place on the internet where you can find families such as rectangular elbows with connections on both sides, having different measurements? Or something similar, that isn't included with Revit, and you need it. I have tried modelling the families myself, but those usually come out badly and are broken. I am also using MagiCAD, but there you can't really find any duct fittings. Could you please help me find a suitable repository for such MEP families? I am also willing to pay for a high-quality family used in industry.

None of those oob fittings comes close to what you need or could be edited to be what you need?

Before inviting a lot of new fittings, talk to a Sheetmetal contractor to see what they actually fabricate or is possible to fabricate. no pint in creating a Revit family no one can obtain int he real World. 

There are the typical family sites, like Autodesk seek or RevitCity

IME, you can use oob, downloaded fittings and your own editing skills to create anything that is used in practice. 

If you have a specific need and struggle, ask a specific question. I'm sure someone here can help creating or finding a suitable fitting. But again, make sure that fitting actually is used by contractors. Look into the SMACNA books.

Revit content is very generic and special connections are something that needs to be obtained from 3rd parties or generated in-house.

I remember those fittings coming with Revit. I can't check ATM as I don't have any OOTB content installed. Also, content can vary according to what region you are in.

Many design companies produce professional looking drawings using only OOTB content. Are you referring to a level of detail that is more appropriate for fabrication drawings?

Check with the larger manufacturers that serve your area.

I've tried making a duct transition fitting that would do angles and turning vanes like the non-transition fitting but I think it's impossible with the current family editor. I haven't found any fitting families available online that are any good. I'd also like a built-in transition tee-wye so I can stop using the sanitary tee. The Charlotte pipe fitting families are quite detailed but useless.

Which of the three do you want to create exactly? 

The first should be oob fitting. The second looks like a combination of fittings. The last looks like non-standard fitting. 

Revit is a toolbox, not a carpenter. The oob families and templates are just examples to get you started. YOU or someone else who lets you download their families, has to edit and create what YOU need.

It is like buying a saw, drill, and yard stick. You learn how to use them, and then you can create tables, and cabinets to your liking. The tool manufacturer doesn't make the products for you.

Why aren't they any good? Most of us are professionals and have been using Revit to put out high quality document sets for a very long time.

De fato, a biblioteca é bem simples, acredito que 80% ou mais dos trabalhos podem ser realizados com ela. Os outros 20% fica a cargo de parametriszação, sempre com base nos modelos existentes.
