Displaying electrical circuits in 3D, or Sections

When creating electrical circuits in Revit, there is the otion to edit the path, even in 3D mode. However, once you end the edit mode, the path disappears, and it is therefore impossible to display it on view for a sheet.

Is there a way this can be solved?

Hi @navid.hedayati ,

It is true that it is only visible in Edit mode. I also don't know if it can be solved with a Dynamo script!
The length of the wire can be made visible in a schedule, but then there is still nothing on the view or the sheet.

Thanks @mpeperkamp for your help It seems like another shor-coming of Revit that makes no sense. Do you know if MagiCAD for Revit is able to solve this problem?

Hi @navid.hedayati ,

What is an option to do, make an idea of it on the Autodesk site:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-ideas/idb-p/302

I also see possibilities in this and will therefore cast a vote.

I am not using MagiCad so I cannot give an answer there.

the Path Edit is purely for analytics. if you want to specify a path you need to place Conduit to see it.

Why don't you just model the conduit?

the Conduits cant carry the same information as the circuits, and to draw both is a workaround with a lot of costs in time

Hi @navid.hedayati

See attached snip from the latest version of AutoCT V 1.4.

We've added a feature to visualise all circuits as model lines with circuit information included as parameters.

These lines remain in the model and can be viewed in 2D or 3D.

This may cover your requirements - please get in touch if you need any guidance on the addin.

Regards,

Paul
