Delete Text Style

Over the years of modifying Revit to suit our company, we had created and changed our text styles many times. Utilizing a "Template" file, we have a set of text styles we use on a typical basis. However, there are many other styles that no longer suit us, and I would like to delete them. I cannot seem to find a way to delete a text style. Any suggestions?

Thanks and goodbye.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Stair Direction Tag might be holding one of these hostage as well. Let's add that to the list places to weed them out of.

- Legends
- Schedules
- Stair Direction Tag

Any others?

Text styles are also used in:

Families > Annotations Symbols > "Automatic Up/Down Direction" and "Fixed Up Direction"

You should write unnecessary text in a view, and then right click "Select all instances" > "In Entire Project Including Legend" and just delete it. After delete it all, find "Purge Unused" in "Manager", click "Check none" and then pick all text box, click "OK" (2024 version)

There is an unsafe solution.  With API tools can delete the Type (as elementId) directly.

All the Instances in document using this type will be deleted together.

And the Objects which using this text type as parameter value will be send another text type.
