Damper Symbol in Elevation

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hey there!

We use a symbol in our mechanical drawings to identify damper types:  (See the attached)
-Motorized = Boxed "M"
-Fire Smoke= Half Filled Triangle
-Fire = Filled Triangle

-Balancing = "L"

The symbols are a part of the Duct Accessories family, loaded into the "Ref. Level" view as a generic annotation.

How can I have these same symbols show when we install them in a vertically running duct? (See the attached)

Thanks!

I too have struggled with this and my solutions have been far from adequate. It would be easy if my vertical ducts were single line. Creating parametric annotative symbols is kind of tricky with dampers. Having to do it for all possible views is trickier and time consuming.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi @Anonymous

You have to draw the symols multiple times to make them available in different elevation views.

Per my understanding, it won't work for sloped cases. So it is not an efficient way.
