Creating Schedules for Different Buildings

In the current Exercise I am doing, there are two buildings with matching equipment. I was asked to:
 "Create two schedules (one for each building) with the equipment contained on them."
The issue is I have never seen two separate schedules with matching equipment be made for one project. I understand how to make a schedule that has the equipment from both builds on it, but not how to separate them.
Am I able to use Zones/Areas to single out what building is used?
How should I go about doing this?

A few ways:

1. Make a Building parameter, window-select the entire building A, assign it A. Repeat with building B.
2. If the equipment family you are scheduling is in a category with a Room Calculation Point, and you have them all properly set up, you can use Space/Name as a schedule filter
3. Phase the buildings as A and B. Schedule by phase.

You can create the parameter as @RLY_15 suggested and use it as a filter in the schedule.

One schedule with a filter for the value equal to A and another with a filter for the value equal to B.
