I have a strut family containing two rods with individually adjustable lengths, nothing nested, all extrusions in same family with parameters for length, Rod 1, Rod 2. My prefab dept. would like to see one schedule counting how many rods total for all the strut in a particular area of the project are, let's say, 7" long and 15" long, etc. I'd like to keep this in Revit to place it on the shop drawing sheet in case the field wants to do the prefab. So far I have only been able to come up with one schedule containing a column for each rod length and a count for the strut that contains rods of that length which prefab will have to multiply the count by 2 to get the rod count of that length, or I have made two schedules, one for each rod in the family. This still requires prefab to add two columns together from separate schedules to get their count. What's worse, if the strut sits half on a column cap and the rods are different lengths, then that strut becomes an outlier making it another field to see and add together by prefab. My only solution is to export the parameter values to excel, import the excel spreadsheet into AutoCAD, then link the DWG into Revit. If anyone has a better idea, please share. Thank you 🙂
