Copy/Monitor levels - not the same with Arch

Hello,

I am working on a project with some levels that have been copy/monitored from a linked Architectural model. In section view, the levels that was created on the MEP model is shown lining up with the Architectural levels but the elevations are not the same. Is there a way to change the elevation values for the MEP levels to match the Arch. levels? I have tried overriding the levels on the mech. model but that just will create problems as there are already mechanical components associated to the "wrong" levels.  The levels are copy/monitored so it is baffling why both levels are showing different elevation values.

In the photo, the mechanical model "wrong" levels are highlighted in red and the correct arch. levels are in blue.

Do you use shared coordinates between Arch and MEP models?

a level can be set to look at the Survey Point or the Project Base Point.

  • Select a level pick Edit Type.
  • check the Elevation Base parameter
  • make sure it matches what the architect is using.
    • you may need to open the arch model to check what there levels are using as there Base.

Have you checked if the value is Project base pointed or survey? Since the levels seem to be aligned but only the value differs.

That would be a way to change it, sometimes when you copy monitor if you don't copy the family type for the level from the main arch model, you could be using a family set up to be using the survey point as a base for elevation values.

Hope this helps!
