Copy MEP elements from one project to new one

Hello,

I constructed an project under the template BIM architecture and have problems now with the pipe routing.

Support told me I have to create the project under the template MEP.. 

how can I copy the pipes etc in the new one?

You can:

1. use transfer project standards or

2. copy pipes from one project and paste into the other - routing preferences will also be copied

You need to have both files open at the same time to use either method.

I had a template which was purely a container for different pipe types and used the above methods to transfer them into projects as required.

PS: you need better support - they're talking nonsense.

Have both templates/projects open at the same time.

I start with my pipetypes template:

Select the pipe types that you want:

Copy to clipboard (Ctrl+C or 

Switch to other project - has to be a View, NOT a sheet:

Paste and select an insertion point. Pipes are now in the second project/template:

Routing preferences are also transferred.

This method works well if you only want to transfer cetain pipe types.

If you want to transfer ALL of your pipes use transfer project standards.

Again have both projects/templates open.

In the second (blank) project/template go to Manage>Transfer Project Standards.

Make sure that "Copy from" is set to your other project/template (and not to a link in one of the files):

Best practice is to "Check none", then check the items that you want to transfer:
