Hi everyone;
I am using Revit 2019, and I am trying to design a domestic water system while I'd like to divide it into two separate sub-systems. In other words, as I have depicted in the attached pictures, I have a domestic water system consisting of all the plumbing fixtures in a floor and creating a network (i.e. system) named "DCW - F1 (Left)". As figure 1, the system classification is "Domestic Cold Water", the system type is "Domestic Cold Water" and finally the system name as I mentioned is "DCW - F1 (Left)".
On the other hand, I have a riser pipe which comes directly from the mechanical room derived from the header connected to the pump. As I have already found about how we can connect different pipe systems using the Revit tutorials from the below link*, I changed the system type of the riser pipe to "Domestic Cold Water Riser" (notice that differs from the floor piping system which its system type is "Domestic Cold Water").
As figure 2, I am trying to connect these two different systems. After connecting them (Figure 3), their system type and name will preserved; however, the mechanical flow in the "DCW - F1 (Left)" turns from 16.8 gpm (prior to connecting two systems as figure 2) to 0 (after connecting).
Moreover, it worths to say that I have put a pipe connector at the starting point of the riser (figure 4) with the properties shown in figure 5.
To recap, my primary goal is having two different systems one includes the pipes' network in the floor and the other makes the riser network. Meanwhile, I'd like to preserve the mechanical properties of each system. In this case, all of the floors GPM should be added in the riser which leads us having the sum of all GPM at the initiation of the riser.
