Clearance Visibility problems

I have made a clearance around a lab valve box.  The problem I have is in the 3d view and in Navisworks some are clear and others are solid.  Any Ideas?

Thanks,

I cannot determine what are the valve box clearances.

Sorry, The Left circle shows the clearance with transparency.  the circle on the right is the same but it is showing as a solid.

How did you make them? Is it a part of the valve family? A single parametric family?

I took the equipment manufacturer's model and went to Ref level added reference planes around the equipment, then made a extrusion at the interceptions, then went to front elevation added reference planes at the top and bottom and extended the extrusion to those planes, then I went to 3d view and changed the material by coping glass and naming it clearance.  There are six different models.  The first one I did worked good,  The second one is the one that shows solid.

It looks like the solid one is getting an override applied to it by "System Graphic Overrides".

Hello,

Are both families connected to a single system?

If the left one is connected to multiple systems, duct or pipe, the color override will not be applied.

They both are on the same system

Did you check the one on the left to see if it is assigned to more than one system.

To end the guessing, share the model or a small portion of it exhibiting the problem.

OK, I understand what you are asking now.  Yes both are on two different systems.  the purple is a 6" WG and the Blue is a 2" WG.  I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the solid one but it still shows up solid.

That is expected. You're not changing anything.

Check the properties of each one. You should see multiple systems on the one that is "clear".

I don't understand what you mean by checking the properties.  The only thing I know is that I have overridden the color on the systems.

Select the element and look at the properties box. There will be a line item that shows the system (or systems) that it is connected to.

On both the system Classification is the same and only one.  The System Name on the one that is clear has two items where as the other only has one.

That's what we've been saying. Thanks for confirming.

is there a solution when there is only one system connecting to it.

It looks like it should be connected to two systems like the other one. Wouldn't that solve the problem?

That seems to correct the problem, but I have some Boxes that are only on one system.  I would like to know why if the material is set to glass it only becomes transparent if connected to two systems.

Because you are using system graphic overrides which are global and very inflexible. I stopped using them during my first project and opted for filters.
