Ceiling Speaker BIMs Appear as Double Image

I'm new to Revit and am stumped with a problem. I placed Community Speaker BIMs in a Ceiling Plan and they do show up but also have a circle next to them with the letter "S" inside the circle. See attached screenshot.

What is the fix for this? Thanks in advance...

Try to use appropriate terminology. This is a family, not a BIM.

What you are seeing is the device and the annotation symbol. The family should be set-up to show either one or the other and the symbol is not usually offset from the device. It looks like a bad family from here but the family would have to be examined to verify that. If that is the case the family needs to be modified.

This just in... The speakers were corrupt. I used another brand and all is well. Therefore Rob Draw was correct in suggesting that something was wrong  with the Families.

How did you determine that they were corrupt?

I went to wire them and Revit would automatically move the wire from the double circle to the circled "S". I then tried  speakers from two other brands and had no problems.

I have no idea what was wrong with the three types of speakers of the first brand and I'm too new at this to be able to find out. But my guess is that the original speakers have issues.

The behavior that you saw is not indicative of corruption. More than likely it has to do with the authoring of the family. Could actually be intentional. Corruption is a different animal and can cause some serious problems for a project. 

If you post the family, someone here will examine it to determine why it was misbehaving for you.

No. I do not want to post it as I'd rather not call out the manufacturer. I did notify them. Thanks though.
